Klimt auction record

Gustav Klimt's painting Portrait of Elisabeth Lederer (1914-1916) was sold yesterday at Sotheby's New York for a total of $236.4 million after a bidding battle – a new record! The landscape paintings Flower Meadow (1908) and Unterach am Attersee (1916) were also auctioned. They sold for $86 million and $70.8 million (including buyer’s premium) respectively.
